Freelanced California-based mainline railroad extending from the San Francisco Bay Area to points north/east. 1000ft single track mainline, long dual-gauge branch-line including five mainline towns. Fully scenicked with beautiful backdrops painted by railroad artist Mike Kotowski. Transition era operations include both steam and diesel mainline passenger trains and through freights that setout blocks of cars at on-line yards. Additional assignments include a high traffic branch-line, locals that switch on-line industries, a dispatcher, a major yard and two smaller yard areas that support local industries and the branch-line interchange. Operations and equipment on the RR are theme based, (example: AT&SF transition era, or WP in the 1950's) and support a purposeful but casual atmosphere. The layout is housed in the historic Agnew depot built for the narrow gauge South Pacific Coast in 1877. DCC (Digitrax) wireless control, telephone communications, sequence operations, 6:1 fast clock, car card and waybills used for freight car forwarding. Fascia labeling, handouts, track diagrams and schematics. Railroad Model Craftsman, February 2000, Model Railroader, February 1988. |
